Clowne were put into bat by promotion chasing Wirksworth, Matt Osborne replaced Phil Bennett opening the innings with Chris Hendley and was soon into the action punishing the Wirksworth opening bowlers. However Hendley was removed bowled by Wanford for 1 which brought the skipper to the crease. After Paul Osborne followed back to the pavilion for 10 it was left to Mark Osborne(29*) and Ian Parsons(14*) to push Clowne past the two hundred mark. Particularly well worth a mention at this point was Mark Osborne's behind the legs drive which has to be the shot of this or any season it will live long in the memory of those who were privileged to see it. Pick of the bowlers was Wanford(11-1-54-3) as Clowne finished on 204 for 6.
