Many Forest fans would say that we are a sleeping giant, but we haven't been an extremely long time now. Forest may have been put on a life support machine, but I for one am very pessimistic as to whether the Reds can ever wake from their current coma.
As it stands the Reds need to win all of their remaining matches in order to stay up. Well, this is all but mathematically true. And it has got me into thinking: "What is it actually like in League One?" During my lifetime Forest have not been in a lower position that this, infact they have spent most of it in the top-flight. What can they look forward to? What is it like to know that if we achieve promotion from the division we are in that will only reach the second-tier of English football. It is more than likely that we are about to discover the answer to all these questions. And I can wait!
Still at least with have the LDV Vans trophy to look forward to, the rising of season ticket prices for us to "mount a challenge for promotion," and maybe a season where Forest can win most of their games and sing "what's it like to see a ground" to some of the biggest clubs in our division. Also, the away travelling faithful will get the chance to visit many new locations. How about a day out in Sunny Scunny. Anyone? Oh well.
Let us not forget that, in theory, Forest still have a chance to work a miracle and can continue in the bid to get a little help from above with a win again Queens Park Rangers... away. This should be a tight game, although sadly I am going to have to predict that QPR win. After all, if I'm right... then I'm right, and if I'm wrong: THANK THE LORD!
Expect Forest to name a line-up similar to that which they used against Burnley on Saturday - but with Paul Gerrard returning from suspension and replacing Colin Doyle, who put in a decent performance on Saturday, commanding his area well.
QPR's Line Up in their last game:
Rangers: Rossi, Bignot, Padula, Bean, Shittu, Baidoo (Townsend 55), Santos, Miller (Edghill 83), Cook (Brown 66), Gallen, Cureton
