Mick Harford has thanked the fans for what their support and has wished Forest all the best. I truly believed that he was starting to turn things round at Forest and he was bringing in some decent players, however Megson is a good appointment and (maybe I'm naive too) but once again I am trusting Doughty's choice.
It seems that we couldn't afford to wait to dicover whether the QPR match performance could continue in the league. This is how I will remember Harford.
He said: "I'd like to thank the supporters for their backing because I think they could see what we were trying to do in playing football a certain way.
"I don't think six games was enough to judge.
"I understand the chairman's thinking and I am praying that Forest will get out of trouble.
"I have a lot of affection for the club and the people who work there. It has been a privilege to work there.
"I have enjoyed it and have no regrets.
"Joe gave me the chance to be manager of Nottingham Forest but it just came a bit too soon."
Chairman Nigel Doughty said: "I would like to thank Mick Harford for the way he has led the club and conducted himself since the resignation of Joe Kinnear.
"He has brought a refreshing honesty and dignity to the position and I would like to wish him all the best in his career."
I would also like to wish Harford all the best, and I really do feel sorry for him. Leaving his post at Luton, where he was doing exceptionally well, to come here and then leaving so shortly. I would also like to wish Forest legend Des Walker all the best. His return to The City Ground is over... for now at least.
