SEASONAL GOALSNEAKS AND GOALFREAKS
By Marty Jeffrey June 17 2003
It is commonly known that you cannot win a game of football without scoring goals. Indeed, no team in the history of the VFL/AFL has won a game on behinds alone. So many Bulldogs players have had the distinction of topping the goalscoring tally over the years.
The following list is of the players that have scored over 50 goals for the Bulldogs in a season. Of course, the tally is not including every season as some of the top goalkickers for the season have not scored over 50 goals in a season.

-29: Alby Morrison (50 goals)
 Alan Rait (59)
 Charles Page (52)
 Norman Ware (51)
 William Wood (51)
 William Wood (75)
 Jack Collins (53)
Jack Collins (84) - League Leader
 Jack Collins (60)
 Max Cross (52)
 Jack Collins (74)
 Merv Hobbs (65)
 Laurie Sandilands (50)
 Kelvin Templeton (82)
Kelvin Templeton (118) - The first century goalkicker, League Leader.
 Kelvin Templeton (91)
 Kelvin Temlpeton (75)
 Simon Beasley (82)
 Simon Beasley (69)
 Simon Beasley (61)
Simon Beasley (105) - League Leader
 Simon Beasley (88)
 Simon Beasley (73)
 Simon Beasley (82)
 Chris Grant (51)
 Danny Del-Re (70)
 Chris Grant (71)
 Richard Osbourne (51)
 Paul Hudson (68)
 Paul Hudson (51)
 Nathan G Brown (57)

I also recognise all leading goalkickers for the club that scored less then 50 majors and indeed every player who had the distinction of scoring a goal for the club. Next history piece will concentrate on the career figures.
