Saturday saw a home victory against North Ballarat. Werribee led at quarter time by 2 goals and never looked back from there. The final margin was eventually 35 points, with the tigers winning 16.17.113 to 11.12.78.
A number of Bulldogs listed players turned out for the senior side. At least 3 players were amongst the best players, namely Nathan Eagleton (is only he could produce at AFL level), Matthew Boyd and Daniel Cross. Form such as what they showed would mean that the senior team at the Bulldogs would have to lift to keep their spot.
Goalkicking wise, youngster Brad Murphy was leading the way in terms of Bulldogs listed players with 3. Nathan Eagleton, Tim Walsh and Patrick Wiggins also contributed on the scoresheet, as the goalkicking tally for the day was dominated by the Werribee brigade. It is good to see that the young players are not only given a chance, but also that they are contributing in some way.
The tigers are now a game out of the top 8, having only won 3 games for the season. However, with the team getting stronger every week, it is only a matter of time until a finals birth beckons. Next week is a Sunday game against Sandringham at the Trevor Barker oval, starting at 2:00.
