ONE CHANGE FOR TRIP WEST
By Marty Jeffrey June 7 2003
Some may think that the Bulldogs have not played all that badly over the last three weeks despite not being able to record a win. Some even think that a win is not too far away.
This week is a lot tougher though. The side has to make the longest road trip of the season so far as they take on the West Coast Eagles at fortress Subiaco. The 2 teams have had quite a deal of recent history on the field, so hopefully this will be a good game.

The Bulldogs have not exactly panicked despite the final quarter fadeouts. Indeed there is only one change made to the side that was beaten last week by the Kangaroos at the Dome.

It is big man for big man as Nick Bruton is demoted to the VFL, probably to get some more ground time and confidence. His place in the 22 is taken by Wayde Skipper, who returns after 2 weeks in the 2's. Nathan Brown's fitness is under question after hurting a shoulder last week, but all reports indicate that he will be lining up come Sunday afternoon.

Being the weekend of grassroots footy, any Perth based Western Bulldogs fans should come to the ground early. The curtain raiser will be between the best of amateur footballers from Victoria and Western Australia. It is possibly the closest that you will get to seeing a state of origin game this season.
