QOTS VS Airdrie match preview.

It looks as though Airdrie have managed to guarantee First Division football for second season in a row and although not mathematically safe our main aim is to climb as far up the table as possible. Tomorrows match against Queen of the South is our next step along the way.

It has been stated on the message board that Airdrie have never scored against Queen of the South at Palmerston Park, hopefully tomorrow will change that.  Games at Palmerston always seem to be dull lifeless affairs but under Ian McCall Queens may change their approach and call an end to their defensive tactics and actually try to win a game.

We all know the situation Alan McManus out through suspension, Stephen McKeown out through suspension and Neil McGowan side lined with a pulled hamstring.

This seems to be just the start of it for this week, although not confirmed yet it seems Willie McLaren is out with an Achilles heel problem. This doesn't leave us with much cover and I would suggest tomorrows lay out may either force us to play McPhee on the right wing with McDougall on the left or just go for it with a 4-3-3 formation playing the formation below.

Tomorrow's match is going to be a tough one, Queens are fighting for their survival is this division and sitting twelve points behind Stranraer does not help them.

Ian McCall is now the manager of Queen of the South and his return to Airdrie was a memorable one, four goals from Prunty, McLaren and two from McPhee saw us take all three points.

If Gary Wood was free of suspension Ian McCall would have a full squad to choose from and he is looking to add to his squad.

Andy Thomson's has returned to Palmerston, and could soon be followed by two other former Queens' favourites, Sean O'Connor and Andy Aitken.

Mr Richmond has managed two of our games in the last two seasons and both have ended in draws, this season he was in controll of the game Vs HAmilton in November a 2 - 2 draw that saw six yellow cards, three for Airdrie three for Hamilton.

I am going to have to do a proper comparision to justify the next statement but Richmond has made more bookings this season than he did last, have the SFA made so many changes that the referees need to book more and more players.

 

 

 Prediction

It's time we won against Queen of the South away from home in fact it's way past due and tomorrow I predict a 2 - 0 win.
