Airdrie play host to our so called derby opponents this weekend with a match against Hamilton, our record at home is three wins and three losses, will the Diamonds be able to make it four home wins?

Sandy welcomes Willie McLaren back to the squad after he was ruled out with a Virus for the past two weeks. Willie scored our opening goal against Hamilton the last time our two teams met and if it wasn't for a change in tactics by Billy Reid it looked as though Airdrie would hold the lead very comfortably. Hamilton late in to the match chose to opt for the aerial bombardment of  the Airdrie goal and finally managed to get the equaliser.

Gary Twigg has not returned to full fitness after his foot injury but it looks as though unofficially we have signed ex-Dundee United mid-fielder Graeme Holmes.

I thought a section of Gordon's match report from earlier in the season would be a good way to introduce this section.

"It was two falls, two submissions or a knockout as Airdrie took on Bully Reid’s Hamilton Academicals (Imbeciles?) ‘Greco-Roman Rules’ Football side. It was honours even though as a goal in each half from either side settled affairs."

Billy Reid is with out Ian Harty for this match but has added Paul McMullen to his squad.

Both managers seem to be playing this one up as a derby match, I'm not sure if the fans would agree with them.

Hamilton will be hurting after the challenge cup defat to St Mirren at the weekend so the question is will they be looking to jump back on the horse and punish the next team they play, namely us or will they still be suffering from a head ache?

The last time Richmond was in charge we had one of our usual nil-nil draws against St Johnstone, a passionless affair with no bookings and nothing really to speak of.
 
I can't see him having it that easy this time round.

 

 

 Prediction

I think I am going to eliminate this section of the preview as every time I do it gets screwed so anyway maybe for the last time I'm predicting a one- one draw.
