Clan Chief

This was the last  Lanarkshire derby of the season and I use the term "derby" loosely.Because the only bitter rivalry I witnessed on Saturday was at the East and North ends of the stadium. This is where Tesco and Morrisons are situated and they battle it out every weekend for customer supremacy,
After our poor performance last week I was hoping to see more of a fighting spirit from the Diamonds but I did not expect the fighting aspect  to be taken quite so literally. Two of our players namely Docherty and McGowan gave the Diamonds our version of the infamous Boyer and Dyer incident as they squared up to one another and im sure that  a punch was thrown and we can count ourselves fortunate that the ref never seen the fracar. Lovering too went too far with the fighting spirit ethos when he lashed out at an Accie after a heavy challenge and was deservedly shown his marching orders.
The Accies gained the lead through a dodgy penalty decision that the ref missed but linesman didn't but we then showed some true bouncebackability when we equalized shortly afterwards with a fine header from Christie.
On reflection this was a decent result with 10 men away from home against a side who had more to play for than we did.
Two wins, one draw and one defeat against the Aciies proves that once again we are Lanarkshire's premier team in the first division .
