Clan Chief

Even though this was one of the Diamonds worst performances of the season it was still an Airdrie man who left Victoria Park as man of the match, Its just a shame than John Rankin wears the dark blue of Ross County. To compound our deserved defeat it was another local lad, Higgins, who netted a brace to send us homeward tae think again.

It all started so well for us in the Highland sunshine as we grabbed an early lead through Gow after only two minutes but we rarely troubled the County defence afterwards.

The diamonds defence struggled to cope with the Staggies forward line all afternoon and we can count ourselves very lucky not to have conceded at least five or six.

This was a tired and jaded performance from the diamonds and is somewhat puzzling as most of our players are meant to playing for new contracts. Judging by that performance one or two of our players must already know their fate. I couldn’t help feeling let down as I trudged out the stadium and down the Jubilee road to drown my sorrows in a local establishment before the long journey home. Roll on the end of the season.

Just back from Dingwall.

A most enjoyable day out - except from the period between 3 & 4.45

Just what has gone wrong with our team?

We have a central defence that you could drive a bus through

We have players who seem to think that the long ball is the best tactic . The only alternative seems to be - pass the ball to Gow - he knows what to do.

We went 2-1 down early in the second half and at that point you could be certain that there would be no comeback - we were totally bereft of ideas in that second half.

Tactically we were very poor but more importantly we had players on the park today who simply did not look interested - remember most of these guys are supposed to be looking to earn new contracts for next season - well Sandy - you are the boss & there are some very difficult decisions ahead.

By the way - I walked out with 10 minutes to go - I cannot remember ever having done this before at an Airdrie game

The real Desmond Dekker

I was there and when we took the lead after only a few minutes I thought that we were going to turn them over but Ross County came back well and in the end the only surprise was that they didn't score more. I would say that the only player who really earned his wages yesterday was Dosser; Dunn was dire as was young Mc Kenna (though this has been his only really poor performance IMHO since he started to play regularly).

As the Stranglers said, "Somethin' better change"!

On the bright side, Thistle's coffin lid is being screwed ever more tightly and I can't wait for their funeral!!
