This week we traveled to Dumfries to take on the only team in the bible but this match would have tried the patience of a saint and I have to confess that I was praying for the ref to blow for full time and put us out our misery as this match was not as god intended the beautiful game to be played.

This match had the feel of a meaningless end of season encounter which seems strange, as both teams have still got a lot to play for. I suppose at the end of the day it was a good point gained for both sides as Thistle were defeated again and slipped ever closer to the abyss that is the second division.

Most people will have noticed that Hearts want their match against Rangers re-played because they feel they were cheated out of a point last mid week although this is highly unlikely I am right behind them on this one but with one condition – Just as long as we can have our 1991 Skol cup semi final against Dunfermline re-played. For those who don’t know this was the night of shame at Tynecastle when David Syme or Beelzebub as he is better known to Airdrie fans robbed us of a cup final appearance with a shameful penalty decision that still sticks in the throat to this day. I have never experienced such a low as I did on that dark winters night in Gorgie.

Not much of a game but when Palmerston hosts the beach volley ball tournament it should be well suited to the pitch

Match started pish and rapidly went down hill. I could probably count the numbers of times 3 passes have been strung togetherfor either team.

Pish game, neither keeper has had a save to make.

Not the sort of game to get the fans back to football. It was a case of no goals & no football. The only talking points were in the second half when Coyle was denied what looked like a stonewall penalty and McGeown had superb save near the end. So a draw was about right.

Of course it was a far better point for us than for them & of course we had a number of players out through injury.

But entertainment? I'd much rather watch paint dry!
