Thistle Vs. Airdrie preview for the 12th February
By Chris Mac February 11 2005
Rivalries within football are what make the game great and the Airdrie Vs. Thistle one has got to be up there with some of the best. As is becoming the norm Sandy Stewart is keeping his cards close to his chest but we understand there is good and bad news from the Airdrie Camp.

Match of the  Day
Preview For Saturday, 12th February 2005

Partick Thistle

V

Airdrie

Dick Cambell

Sandy Stewart

Alan Gow has recovered from his hamstring pull that ruled him out of the Ross County cup game, the less said about that the better.

Stephen Docherty will be given a late fitness test before the team is announced tomorrow as he is still suffering from a groin strain.

Kevin Christie does not seem to be recovering from a groin strain and may have to go for a scan to decide the best course of action.

With only seven points between us and Thistle, this game has to be won. Over the next three weeks we play the bottom three in the league and winning all three games will go a long way to securing first division football. This match is going to have even more of a bite to it this time round after the over the ball tackle and the resulting mid-field battle that took place between Martin Hardie and half the Thistle team during our home win.

Of course football players do not hold grudges but I hope Martin is wearing armour plating. Many players revel in the hatred some fans can show during matches Will Martin stand up or wilt away under the pressure?

Ex-Diamond Darren Brady will be hoping to make his first start for Partick Thistle but Dick Campbell has almost a full squad to choose from.

Partick Thistle have taken nine points from their last three home games and first division manager of the month Dick Campbell plans on turning Firhill in to a fortress.
