Sandy Stewart has two main concerns for this fixture, Alan McManus who has been training over the past two days may still be out of action with a continuing hamstring problem, the fixture has probably came to soon for him. The other Stephen McKeown is still out of action with a back problem.
Niggling injuries to Alan Gow and Willie McLaren seem to have cleared up so I would expect Sandy to continue with the same team that bat Hamilton 3 Vs 1 away from home last weekend. I don't think many will argue that the spectacular goal score by Alan Gow made a fantastic result even better.
Our opponents St Mirren have the best defensive record in the league having only allowed 12 goals to be scored against them so far this season. Our front line will have to be on form to make their efforts count.
Comments from Sandy concerning the game.
"I've been delighted with recent performances although we will need to be at our best if we are to beat St Mirren."
From the Official Site
-
"We are playing with confidence and our forwards are scoring regularly so we have a good chance. St Mirren are a good team who have a very good record this season, they are very hard working and haven't lost many games but we will be trying to put a fly in the ointment of another team near the top of the division."

Gus McPherson's St Mirren were 2-0 down last week against Queen of the south, a team we have struggled to beat this season, and came back to win the game 3 Vs 2. This season St Mirren have proved them selves to be a very good defensive out fit. When you have sat amongst the top three of the league for most of the season your confidence only grows. But I think we gave them a fright when we played them in Paisley, our second half performance made at least some of their fans stand up and take note. St Mirren go in to this match unchanged from the team that won last week.
Gus McPherson's comments:
- He said: "Airdrie are perhaps the form team in the division at the moment and I expect a tight encounter."

Twice in one season Hugh Dallas has been given the opportunity to take control of the Diamonds at New Broomfield. Last time we saw him was in our league opener against St Johnstone we won 1-0 that day. There were only two booking in the full match and it was that man Marvyn "in the Middle" Wilson who received our only yellow card of the day. | |
Last seasons record: Games: 30 Yellow Cards: 85 Red Cards: 2 |

This is a fixture where any result other than a loss is a good one, were playing so well our expectations have probably risen but St Mirren have been a hard team to break down this season so taking a point will be enough. Still taking Airdrie to win 2 Vs 1 though. |
