Airdrie -V- Morton preview 1/11/03

Match of the day, Airdrie Versus Greenock Morton the second of Airdrie’s three home matches in a row, brings together the teams that most think will be challenging for the two promotion places at the end of the season.
Morton has won seven out of their ten league matches so far this season and Airdrie have not lost a home game. So the clash of the second division titans begins on Saturday.
After the battle with Stennie two weeks ago, Sandy Stewart’s team are still struggling to get back to full fitness. Our two main doubts are Jerome Varielle and Scott Wilson. Neil (Mad dog) McGowan returns to the team after his suspension for violent conduct.
Morton manager John McCormack has only one doubt, Australian play maker John Maisano who was carried off on a stretcher against Stenhousemuir, he has declared himself fit but there is still a lingering doubt.

Does anyone notice a common thread running through this, Stenhousemuir, hacking, injured players?????? They are so hard done by as well!!!!!!

This is going to be another tough match and predicting the final result will be difficult, the bookies have the draw as the best bet and really can’t split the difference between both teams. They’re the experts so who am I to argue.
Airdrie to win 2- 1.
