Victoria Park 0-4 AS Airdrie
Airdrie topped the section after a comfortable win over fellow quallifiers Victoria Park.
A fine treble from Ally Gray and a header from Shaw ensured Airdrie finished top and earned a home tie against Riverside in the last 16.
Two changes from Saturday’s team saw Gray and Leishman in for Kenny Pardoe and Morrison.
Airdrie put this game away in the first half with a good showing on a heavy park. Ian Shaw opened the scoring with a header. After 25 it was two when Ally Gray chipped a fine effort over Hendrie from an acute angle. Five minutes from half time good play from Burton released Lindsay down the left and his cross was slid in by Gray at the back post. 3-0 at half time and Airdrie well on top.
Second half saw Airdrie settle on their lead and Victoria dominated most of the play. However Shaw had a couple of good efforts before being replaced by Torrens. Gray got his third with a looping header over Hendrie from a great cross from Lindsay. For Victoria Rowan saved well from the striker, another fine save from the penalty spot and 2 great blocks from Burton and Slevin ensured a clean sheet for the away side.
A fine first half followed up by a not so clever second half in terms of chances and possession. However with Clark, Morrison, Ross Graham, Stewart and Matthew Brown missing and Kenny Pardoe and the returning Capaldi unused subs it says a lot for the guys playing to earn another solid victory.
