I hate international break
By diamondblogger September 8 2008
When Airdrie are rolling along on the crest of a wave, the last thing you want is another international break. The 5-0 thumping of Morton, hot on the heels of the thrilling cup win at Tynecastle really had the juices flowing again after years in the doledrums.

It was heartening to see for a distance that we'd breezed past Cowdenbeath to set up our first semifinal of the season with Paul Di Giacomo getting another couple of goals.

Some of the other results have laid down some form markers for us.   Morton, with a virtually unchanged side,  have only gone and beaten Queen of the South, minus only really Gary O'Conner, may suggest that our thrashing of them may well have been special.

Our next league victims, Livingston, were soundly beaten 2-0 at home by Partick.  Thistle are no mugs so not a lot can be read into the result, but anything that makes Livingston more human can only help.   They're without nine goal striker Leigh Griffiths who had blasted them to the top of the division.

Hopefully Scotland can lift themselves out of their current funk but for me it's roll on Saturday.
