Clay Cross CC
Steve Nottingham
Steve Nottingham
Right Hand Bat / Right Arm Medium Bowler

Nickname: Notty

One of the inaugural members of the Clay Cross CC ‘Hall of Fame’ who has been at the club since more or less the start. He surprisingly only finds himself on the honours board 3 times with his first ton for the club being 20 years ago but has played some massive innings over the years and goes into 2006 looking to score more runs and guide the Second X1 to promotion.
Was captain of the first team during the successful promotion season of 2001 but then stepped down midway through 2002, he however carried on playing at the top level. He takes charge of the seconds this time out and has high hopes for his team in their 5 North campaign.
He usually opens the batting and finished last season averaging a shade over 25 in 5 North, he is another player on the books who can score at a quick rate or patiently build an innings. Also his medium pace bowling from his short run up causes problems for batsmen as Steve has the knack of not letting batsmen settle.

Notty is the clubs resident statto and spends a lot of time sorting out information from years gone by or from the modern day. His other favourite pastime is reminiscing with fellow Hall of Famer Bob Evans on the good old days at the Cross.
