Right Hand Bat / Right Arm Medium Fast Bowler
Nickname: Dez
Not many people in the squad can hit the ball as cleanly and with as much power as Dale. An excellent all-round cricketer on his day who can take opposition sides apart with his brutal batting, then pressure batsman with his electric fielding. He is one of, if not the best fielder in the club and batsmen often think twice about taking the quick single to him, Dez also possesses one of the safes pair of hands in the league. His batting has come on tremendously of late and anybody who witnessed his magnificent 102 against Matlock last year would have been hard pushed to find a better knock anywhere else all season…the only people to complain were the people enjoying a relaxing day in the park over the road! His bowling is rarely called upon but he can bowl with decent pace and gives 100% when required.
Although being a key player for Clay Cross, Dale plays football at a decent level and often misses games at the beginning and towards the end of the season due to his first love of football taking centre stage.
Dale is a bit of at fitness freak due to his football and likes to think “his body is a temple”. However that seems to all go out of the window on nights out when he puts away twice as much beer as anybody else. Average footballer…professional drinker!!
