Right Hand Batsman / Right Arm Swing Bowler
Nickname: Geordie
Another member of the playing squad who has been voted DCCL ‘cricketer of the year’ in the past, however this was for his previous club Chesterfield Cylinders. In the winter of that year he made the move to Clay Cross and has been a key member of the first team ever since. The former ex-professional footballer opens the batting and is sometimes called upon to turn his arm over and bowl his effective swing bowling. Although some say he’s past his best Paul is still plays a key role in the team and is raring to go for 2006. He is a good club man who has done a lot within the youth teams, he is Manager of the under 14’s and has brought many players through the ranks to play senior cricket.
Geordie is a passionate Middlesborough fan and whenever he gets chance he returns to the Riverside to support his team. He has an all year round sun tan and his proposal to have a sun bed fitted in the changing room was rejected at the last AGM. Most of the lads however are convinced Paul has got shares in St Tropez fake tan.
