Rob Kench
Left Hand Batsman/ Right Arm Fast Bowler
Nickname: Kenchy, Freddie
Kenchy came back to his roots midway through last season, making the short journey down the A61 from local rivals Chesterfield. He played most of his junior cricket at Clay Cross before the lure of playing at Queens Park every other week dragged him away. However when captain Greenhalgh offered Rob the contract he jumped at the chance of pulling on the Cross shirt again. He plays a key role within the first team with his ability to bowl a heavy ball at express pace and to destroy bowling attacks with his batting. If he can keep fit he will be deffinately one to watch this year.
Rob also plays Rugby during the winter and enjoys throwing weights around in the gym. However he does like to wear tight fitting t-shirts (sometimes pink ones!!) so Kenchy does kop a bit of stick from the rest of the lads.
