With the UniBond Premier League inspection committee deeming that the Hilton Park pitch is currently unfit to host UniBond Premier League football, Leigh's first two home fixtures are to take place at Victory Park, the home of UniBond League Division One side Chorley.
Although an undoubted blow to the preparations of Leigh's on and off field teams alike, with an almost siege mentality likely to see a large contingent of Genesis supporters make the trip to Chorley in support of Steve Bleasdale's side.
Bleasdale's only definite absentee is midfielder Tom Field, who is serving the second game of a four match suspension that was carried over from his spell with Vauxhall Motors last season, with striker Matt Berkeley looking to make his home debut alongside several other summer signings, including the likes of Steve Dickinson, Darren Mansaram, Josh Wilson, Andrew Teague and Chris Holland.
Supporters wishing to travel to the game by best advised to travel by rail from Bolton, with direct trains running regularly to Chorley. Any supporters travelling by car need to leave the M61 at junction 6 and on the A6 towards Chorley town centre, with Victory Park situated off Pilling Lane.
Opponents Ashton started with an impressive 1-1 draw with North Ferriby United on Saturday, though they only earned a point by virtue of an own goal four minutes from full-time, with ex-Leigh striker Ian Fitzpatrick spearheading United's attack.
Kick off is at 7:45pm at Victory Park on Tuesday evening.
