Quay fill the friendly Gap

By Matt Lawton July 2 2008
Leigh Genesis have confirmed that their final pre-season friendly of the summer programme will take place on Deeside with a fixture away to Welsh Premier League side Gap Connah's Quay to be played on Saturday 9th August with a 2pm kick off.

The fixture follows similar trips to North Wales last summer with fixtures away to UniBond League Division One side Colwyn Bay and Quay's Welsh Premier rivals Caernarfon Town, with the fixture taking place after popular demand from supporters suggested that a trip over the border was certainly in order, with other pre-season friendlies largely in the local area.

Another twist in the fixture against Connah's Quay is that Leigh Centurions are also playing in the Principality that weekend when they travel to Bridgend on Sunday 10th August to face Celtic Crusaders in a vital National League One fixture, so it is hoped that supporters travelling for the weekend may wish to make a slight de-tour and support their round ball cousins!
