Roberts moves on

By Matt Lawton June 17 2008
Twenty one year old Owen Roberts has left Leigh Genesis to return to former club Clitheroe after spending the past eighteen months at Hilton Park, originally under the management of Stuart Humphreys and latterly Steve Bleasdale, gaining valuable Conference North experience.

Roberts, who made thirty one appearances in all competitions during the 2007/08, joined the club in January 2007 as primarly a left sided defender, though Roberts, a set-piece specialist, later appeared on the left side of midfield.

Roberts was invited to return to pre-season training with the club but, with an increased training schedule, has decided to return closer to home with UniBond League Division One North side Clitheroe, the side he left originally left to join Leigh.

On behalf of the club's supporters, may I think Owen for his efforts when representing the club with pride and wish him the very best of luck in the future.
