Mortimer joins RMI revolution

By Matt Lawton May 20 2008
Left sided player Alex Mortimer, twenty six later this year, has become the latest player to join the Leigh RMI revolution as manager Steve Bleasdale continues his preparations for next season's UniBond Premier League campaign, the first to take place at their dazzling new home at the Leigh Sports Village.

Mortimer (pictured) is equally at home on the left side of defence or midfield and has shown a tendency to be particularly attack-minded in a career that, after spending time as a schoolboy at Manchester United, has seen him play for Leicester City and Shrewsbury Town earlier in his career before enjoying a successful two year spell with Southport.

Particularly impressive when crossing the ball from the left flank, Mortimer has recently had notable spells in the UniBond League with Curzon Ashton and FC United of Manchester.

Welcome to the RMI revolution, Alex!
