A defender at last! Zuiverloon arrives.

Relief I'm sure for Baggies fans last week as news broke that at last a defender had made their way to the Hawthorns to complete another piece of the Mowbray jigsaw. The departure of Martin Albrechtsen left huge concerns about the lack of quality signings being brought in over the summer break. However, waiting over, Holland U21 international Gianni Zuiverloon is now an Albion player.

The departure of Martin Albrechtsen left huge concerns about the lack of quality signings being brought in over the summer break. However, waiting over, Holland U21 international Gianni Zuiverloon is now an Albion player.
Zuiverloon has signed a three year deal with the Baggies, having chosen to snub an offer from Heerenveen, a Dutch top flight club. Instead he travels to England, where he becomes Albion's most expensive defender ever.
Gianni, who set Tony Mowbray back £3.2 million, takes summer spending up to £10 million. He is Albion's fifth signing of the summer, joining Luke Moore, Roman Bednar, Kim Do-Heon and Graham Dorrans as Albion newbees.
