Ibrahima Sonko a target for Mowbray
By Jemma Tappenden May 25 2008
Baggies Boss Tony Mowbray has been linked with a £3 million move for Reading defender Ibrahima Sonko according to sources at the club. Sonko, part of Steve Coppell's relegated Reading side is said to be seeking a move away from the club after a falling out with the manager. Sonko signed for reading in 2004 from Brentford on a free, and has notched up over 100 appearances for Reading.

The Senegalese defender is said to have been slated by chairman John Madjeski after refusing to take part in a reserve fixture towards the end of last season.

Mowbray is said to be looking to strengthen his defence as they seek Premiership survival, and defender Martin Albrechtsen is still set to decide whether his future lies at the Hawthorns.

Other Premiership new arrivals Stoke City have also been linked with a possible move the Reading defender, and now Play off winners Hull City who overcame Bristol City with a 1-0 victory at Wembley yesterday will also now join the race to snap up available players.
