Gera interested in ambition not money
By Jemma Tappenden May 20 2008
Albion's Hungarian International midfielder Zoltan Gera gave the club a major boost today by insisting that they still remain a serious contender to win his signature for next season. Gera has been linked with a whole host of clubs, many of whom are in the Premiership, as well as Scottish giants Celtic and Portuguese side Benfica.

But Gera, who has spent 4 years at the Hawthorns, is prepared to stay with Albion providing they can prove their ambition.

Gera has already had Premiership experience with the Baggies, a season of great escape followed by a season of relelgation which was to be followed by a two year stint in the Championship before promotion was won at the end of the last campaign.

But previous top flight experience with the Baggies has prompted Gera to ask West Brom to prove their ambition before he puts pen to paper on a new contract.

The midfielder will soon fly out to Hungary to hook up with his international team mates, and is keen to settle his future before this.  Gera's agent Sam Stapleton confirmed today that ambition not money will be the influential factor deciding his Hawthorns future.
