The forceful Husky Sport Team - Christian Iddon, Jay Smith and Mike Wright - are heading north this weekend. Croft circuit, in North Yorkshire and not far from Darlington, stages the penultimate round of the Maxxis British Winter Supermoto Championships. The racing will take place on Saturday the 14th of February, as opposed to the usual race day of Sunday. With it being St Valentine’s Day, who will Cupid be firing his winning arrow at?

Christian will be praying for better luck this weekend after suffering a puncture and tyre problems at the last round, staged at Brands Hatch. Christian still has a comfortable lead in the 650 class, and a marginal lead in the Super Final class, and he is eager to gain another number one plate to add to his already growing collection.

Christian has got a strong 34 point lead from KTM mounted Ady Smith in the 650 class, but only a slight advantage, 11 points, over Swiss Wire Yamaha rider Danni Müller. It’s still all to play for in the overall Championship tables.

Christian is confident as he heads to Croft, and is keen to maintain the points gap between himself and his rivals. Commenting he said, “I had a few problems at Brands but I still managed to gain some well-needed points, which has kept my lead in the Championship standings. I’m looking forward to racing at Croft and will be keen to gain some wins at the North Yorkshire based track. It’s a good little track with good off road and road sections. I managed to gain the win here last year and I’m enthusiastic to try and get the same result again this weekend.”

The 19-year-old from Little Hayfield, Derbyshire will be powering his Husqvarna through the pack come tomorrow’s racing, and will be determined to achieve some more hearty results. Meanwhile Londoner Jay Smith will be hoping to regain the form he showed at Pembrey, and put the bad run he had at Brands behind him; and Mike Wright will again be battling hard in the vigorous 450 class.

Warren Steele will again be resting out after his crash at Pembrey. He’s hoping to be fighting fit come the start of the Summer Series in March.
