Warren Steele will be making a return to Supermoto racing this weekend at the South Wales track of Pembrey. Riding in the Open Class Championship on board his 570 Husqvarna, Warren is determined for a set of good results. Warren, who rested out of Lydden Hill a few weeks back, as he is still recovering from the horrific injury he suffered in August, when he broke his tibia in seven places.

The 2002 British Champion is recovering well and returning to full fitness. Speaking with Warren he said, “The leg is feeling much better now, and I’m walking without my stick which is a bonus. I’m raring to get back to racing again, and looking forward to getting back to competing. The injury has been a long job and it was important for me to try and get back to racing as soon as possible. I took it steady over Xmas and New Year and I’m eager to get back out there again where I belong.”

Joining Warren on track will be new Husqvarna signing Christian Iddon. Christian will be competing in the UK under the Husky Sport banner, and is extremely excited about his first outing on board the Husky. Commenting he said, “I can’t wait to get started on the new bike. It’s a new challenge for me but a step, I believe, in the right direction. I’ve got a very busy year ahead of me but something I’m eager to get stuck into.” Christian, who was crowned British Champion in 2003, signed for Husky just after Christmas. He will be competing again in the ACU Summer Series plus all the World Championships.

The other two riders who will be flying the Husky Sport flag are Mike Wright and Londoner Jay Smith. Mike, who has make the switch from Honda to Husqvarna, is an extremely talented rider who is capable of achieving very creditable results. With the help and support from Husky Sport, Mike is determined that 2004 will be a successful year for him.

Probably the longest serving Supermoto rider, this will be Mike’s tenth year competing in Supermoto. Riding for the first time ever on the Husqvarna, Mike’s main priorities will be the British NORA and Bemsee Championships. Originating from St Helen’s, and running his own successful motorcycle shop, Mike will be pushing his 450 Husky hard and hoping to gain good consistent results.

Jay, who competed for the Husqvarna team last season, returns to the squad for his second year. Already achieving successful results in 2004 at the previous round at Lydden Hill, where he gained a third place at the Kent based track. Jay remains a very consistent rider, gaining very positive results on his travels. Improving at every round, Jay will soon be a force to be reckoned with. Thriving from his impressive result at Lydden, Jay is full of confidence as he heads to Wales at the weekend.
