16 & 17 August: NORA Supermoto preview for Blyton

The sixth round of the British NORA Championship takes place this weekend at Blyton Raceway, Gainsborough. With a packed entry for this weekend’s race in the 450 and Open Class the racing is bound to be as heated as ever.

This weekend will notice the absence of current British Champion Warren Steele. Warren, who suffered a horrendous crash at the Super Moto des Nations on the 3rd August, breaking his leg and ankle, will miss this round. He was flown back to the UK on Wednesday of this week after having to be monitored at the hospital in France, and it’s not yet confirmed how long he will remain out of competition. But hopefully we will see him back on track as soon as possible.

From one injury to another, Leighton Haigh will make a welcome return to the scene after smashing his collarbone when he last raced at Blyton. Leighton, who is 85% fit, is keen to get back on his bike and back to his winning ways. He has been off his factory Honda since the end of June, while he recovered from the injury, but he will be back this weekend showing his true colours.

Add to that youngster Christian Iddon and team-mate Andy Mitchell, on the Husabergs, plus the full force of factory KTM rider Ady Smith, and it’s set to be a fierce weekend’s racing.
