Rhys Williams joined Cardiff RFC as a youngster and has represented them at many different age levels.
He made his senior debut in 1999 against Bedford as a 18 year old, scoring a try from centre. This began a whirlwind year for Williams, as 13 months later, he burst onto the international scene with Wales, with a sensational display against Ireland at Lansdowne Road.
Williams is a prolific try scorer, and has topped seasons total chart twice, firstly in 02/03 scoring 15 tries, then in 04/05 with 13.
Although it seems like Rhys has been at tope level for ages now, he is still just 25, with his peak possibly still to come, a terrifying thought for defences everywhere.
In 2005, Rhys was made Cardiff Blues captain. He has started every game for the Blues since taking up the role.
He recently signed a 2 year extension on his contract, which will now run until the end of 2007/2008 season at very least.
