Back on top of the league

Match action
By Methil Milan Man
October 6 2002
A Ross Graham hat-trick secured all three points and top-spot in the league in what was a less than impressive, but hard-fought East Fife victory over Gretna at Bayview. With the first quarter of the league campaign played, the Fifers sit top of the league having only been beaten by Morton so far...

East Fife 3-2 Gretna

East Fife fought back to win this game after falling behind twice in the match. A very poor first-half performance was followed by a Craig Farnan inspired, 'no-nonsense', hard-fought second-half display.

Ross Graham netted a hat-trick one of which was a penalty after being brought down at the edge of the box. The Angus striker could've had four as he missed a sitter at 2-2, one on one with the keeper.

The big talking point for the Gretna fans will be Michael Hall's booking for having a kick at a Gretna player and only receiving a booking.

Out-of-favour Grant Cunningham came on, on the hour mark to a great reception for the fans. His presence on the park helping East Fife overturn the, then, 1-2 scoreline.
