10-man East Fife hold out for point at Hampden

Match action
By Methil Milan Man
August 18 2002
East Fife were knocked off top spot yesterday, losing their 100% record at Hampden with a 10-man side playing out purely defensive tactics in the hope of a 0-0 draw. The Methil men sat back and were pounded by the ameteurs for the whole game but managed to hold on for the point...
New signing and influencial midfielder Craig Farnan was deservedly sent off in 18 minutes after having a kick at a Queen's player. This made the game an up-hill struggle and Jim Moffat decided to adopt mega-defensive tactics for the rest of the game. The Glasweigens had chance after chance but the visitors managed to hold out. Substitute Kenny Deuchar nearly won the game, against the run of play, late-on with a header which struck the woodwork.
