Following our story on Friday regarding an attempt by PPGI to seize BAR's cars, it appears such an attempt was made after the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday. However, the paperwork was not in order and as a result the cars were not impounded and left Monaco shortly afterwards. In this story we said a judge had ordered that all three BAR cars were to be seized after Sunday's race. The judgement, handed out this past Wednesday, came after two Montreal business men, France Corbeil and Jean Langevin, who operate a company called PPGI from Monaco, sued BAR for $3.2 million

There is now expected to be a hearing on June 26 to clarify the situation and see whether France Corbeil of the PPGI company has any claim against the team.

Corbeil claims he is owed a sizeable commission on a sponsorship deal which he orchestrated in 1998. The BAR team management is completely different today and, according to GrandPrix.com, Corbeil does not seem to have any documentary evidence to back up his claims.
