BRIDGEND 49 - 21 SWANSEA

Despite being behind at half time Bridgend managed to defeat Swansea and maintain their 100% record in the Welsh Premiership.

With only a handful of experienced players Swansea did well in the first half with Arwel Thomas and Steve Winn both scoring tries for the visitors. Thomas added a conversion and three penalties but unfortunately they couldn't maintain the performance for 80 minutes.

Bridgend, after having thrashed a second string Caerphilly team on Wednesday night also gained two first half tries through David Bishop and a penalty try. Warlow converting them both to leave the score at 21 - 14 to Swansea at half time.

However, the exciting rugby which Bridgend have produced lately shone through in the second half with a further five tries being run in. A further penalty try added to touchdowns for Richard Mustoe, Matt James, Chris Horseman and an 80 metre interception try from centre Gareth Thomas all of which were converted by Warlow gave Bridgend a 49 - 21 victory.

Up next for Swansea is a trip to Pontypridd where they could face a weakened side as Ponty, who played the London Wasps on Friday also have a match with Birdgend next Friday at Sardis Road.
