McLaren reigned supreme today beating both Ferrari’s to the top of the time sheets at Circuit de Catalunya. Hamilton completed the fastest lap of the day with team mate Kovalainen a close second. Both drivers concentrated on pit stop practice and qualifying simulations in the morning and despite both stopping on track due to fuel coupling issues the MP4-23 of Hamilton still managed to be 0.5 seconds faster than Raikkonen.

With this, the final week of testing before everybody packs up for Melbourne, Rosberg showed once again just how competitive he and his Williams are going to be this season by splitting up the two Ferrari’s of Raikkonen and Massa respectively on the time sheets by finishing fourth today.  Despite a spin in the gravel, Giancarlo Fisichella was on impressive form today completing 102 laps and finishing in sixth position.

Due to David Coulthard’s tweaked neck muscle, Sebastian Vettel stepped into the RB4 today and put in a fine performance coming in seventh on the time sheets. Honda’s Button made the top ten today for the first time which was encouraging for the team. Both Renault’s were very much adrift of the pace today as were both Toyota’s. BMW’s Heidfeld also finished out of the top ten today, along with Red Bull Racing’s Mark Webber.
