As you may have heard, McLaren Fans and Sycodesigns partnership nearly collapsed the other day, due to a copyright infringement that McLaren had thought we had not abieded by.

However, this confused much confusion to myself, as I have never used images from McLaren's website, however have always used images from F1Racing.net. They had agreed for me to use the images, just as long as I gave recognisition to their website on my own. For the past three years this has happened, from the day Karl Kinger, a previous owner of the Totally Toyota F1 site and the McLaren Fans site had started requesting from my website.

After hearing from Tim and Sam that McLaren had thought we were using their images, I decided to contact F1Racing.net and ask them if it was still ok to use their images, as we had hit a problem with McLaren thinking that they were using McLaren copyrighted images.

I got a nice swift reply from a friendly chap called, Jeroen Huis in 't Veld who said the following:

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your email.
I dont mind as long as you place GPUpdate's logo or GPUpdate.net in it, okay?

So there we go, we here at McLaren fans would like to apologise to the McLaren team for our lack of communication and for using their logo, without permission.

We therefore have agreed not to use the McLaren logo and will make people recognise that we are an Unoiffical McLaren Fans website.

Also a big thank you to Phil Huff from the RHF1 site for helping out the site through these down times.
