A weekened Chester team travelled to Colwyn Bay for their 4th friendly of the pre season warm up hopeing to improve on a poor showing days earlier against Bangor City.

Colwyn Bay 1 - 0 Chester City

With the high profile friendlies against the XI teams of Everton, Manchester City, Manchester United and Liverpool coming up it was a Chance for Wright to rest some of his squad and give the fringe players a run out. City began with Worsnop in goal, Ruffer, Keegan, Lancaster and Woodyat across the back, Carey, Elam, Carden and Micky Brown in midfield with Cameron and Sugden upfront.

Mark Wright's men controlled the game but never really looked like scoring in a uneventful game and it looked certain to end in a 0-0 draw before Colwyn Bay stole the victory with just a minutes remaining on the clock.

On the plus side their were a few impressive individual performances by Worsnop, M Brown, Woodyat and new trialist from Southport Lee Elam.
