Chester City travelled to Buckley Town to play their first friendly on Monday night. City won 4-1 with goals from Cameron, Beesley Twiss and Cameron.

Buckley Town 1 - 4 Chester City

City who started with 5 of their new summer signings never really got out of 2nd gear against Buckley Town in their 4-1 friendly victory.

It took just 6 minutes before the first opening was made with some great link up play between Whittaker, Sugden, Collins and Kelly. It was ended when Whittaker struck a fierce drive past the Buckley keeper only to see it hit the upright.

Just two minutes later Ryan Sugden won his club a penalty after a rash lunge inside the box. Dave Cameron stepped up to carmly convert the spot kick.

City looked in control and a series of short crisp passes in midfield highlighted the gap in quality between the two sides. The first half seemed to die and became a scrap in midfield after a promising opening before Chris Blackburn had a 25 year attempt gathered by the Buckley shot stopper.

At half time Manager Mark Wright made a number of changes to his line up and only Bolland and Hatswell stayed on the field.

Early in the 2nd half Beesley hit a powerful shot which was pushed over for a corner. In a rare attack Buckley set there number 11 through who stabbed the ball past City's on trial goalkeeper to equalize against the odds. Soon after Paul Carden was brought down in the area but the ref waved play on.

On the hour Mark Beesley made an inspired run down the left flank and supplied a low ball infront of Twiss who agonizingly could'nt get a enough on the ball and he missed the far post.

Halfway through the second half ex swansea striker Brodie was hacked down and again nothing was given. The Blues began to dominate and created chance after chance. In the 73rd minute Micheal Twiss was taken down in the penalty area after a burst of pace. Beesley stepped up for the second penalty of the evening and placed it in the bottom right hand corner past an outstretched glove of the Buckley keeper.

In the 80th minute with Chester dominating the game a ball was knocked forward and Twiss nipped in before a hesitant keeper to guide it past him into the back of the net.

With the game coming to its end, Brodie's cheeky little back heel but Beesley through put Chester's top goalscorer for the last two seasons failed to hit the target, then 2 minutes from time Beesley met a cross with a spectacular scissor kick that was pushed away by Buckley's substitute keeper. Moments later Carey collected the ball from an impressive Ben Davis and struck a venomous strike on the half volley which came back of the post

Ben Davis again supplied the cross on 90 mins which was met by Steve Brodie's head and looped over the motionless keeper and ended in the back of the net to end the scoring. Buckley Town had a shot turned round the post in the dying moments by the young trialist
