The transfer of Lee Hodges from Rochdale to Bristol Rovers has finally been confirmed by the club. Manager Ray Graydon had announced that the deal was only waiting for a medical to be completed for the transfer to go through and after a long delay it was completed earlier this week.
The diminutive left winger found himself out of favor at Rochdale under player / manager Paul Simpson and spent the latter stages of his career on loan at the Memorial Stadium. Simpson, who has since been sacked by Rochdale, restricted Hodges to a minimal amount of apperances this season and allowed him to move on loan in order to gain first team football. The change in management at Rochdale meant that the transfer was supposed to hit a snag but fortunately this was not to be so.
After an impressive start in the blue and white quarters, Hodges quickly became a fans favorite and he will no doubt be looking to continue his brilliant form come next season.
In other news of players on Rover's books, Chris Llewellyn has made public that he will be having talks with Swansea manager Bryan Flynn soon to discuss a possible free transfer to his home town club. Meanwhile survival heroes Andy Rammell and Vitalijs Astafjevs have yet to commit their futures to the club and remain unattached for the time being.
Midfielder Tommy Widdrington is among the names being strongly linked with the Gas as he has been told that he has no future at Victoria Park. The former Hartlepool skipper is also being followed closely by Sheffield Wednesday and he has stated that he is honored to be linked with both clubs and while no concrete offer has been made by either club yet he would be happy to open talks with either with a permanent deal in mind.
