WALES 1 GERMANY 0

Robert Earnshaw
By Martyn Williams May 14 2002
Wales have beeten the Germans in an amazing game of football at the Millenium Stadium with a great goal from debutant Robert Earnshaw
Wales started the game strongly with Earnshaw playing a brilliant ball over the defece for Giggs but a good save from German keeper Oliver Kahn kept the score at 0-0. The Germans didnt get a single shot on target in the first half as Wales were easily the better side.

At the start of the second half Earnshaw got behind the german defence and stuck the ball sweetly past Kahn who didn't stand a chance. Robbie Savage was as enthusiastic as ever and didn't let a dislocated thumb bother him, and carried on with the game. Germany hit the post twice before Earnshaw was replaced by Chris Coleman making his first appearance since his car crash 18 months ago, both Earnshaw and Coleman recived a standing ovation. A fantastic result for the Welsh.
