Chris Coleman Retires From Football
By Martyn Williams October 3 2002
Wales and Fulham defender Chris Coleman has been forced to retire due to injury.
Chris Coleman has been forced to retire from football because of the horific injuries he sustained in a car crash in January 2001.

Coleman's fight for fitness and to re-build his football career has been an inspiration for us all.

Coleman started his career at Manchester City, then creating a name for himself in his home town of Swansea. He then moved on to Crystal Palace and since then has played for Blackburn and joined Fulham in November 12997 for £2.1m.

During his international career he won 32 caps and scored 4 goals.

His retirement will be a massive blow to Wales and to Fulham, all we can do is wish Chris well in whatever he chooses to do from now on.
