Merry Bloody Christmas - Wolves 0-2 Reading

Hit Bar
By Scott Cooper December 26 2005
MERRY BLOODY CHRISTMAS. Whilst spirits were high a near full house crammed into Molineux to watch what they hoped would be a real Christmas Cracker. However this is Wolves and nothing is ever that simple...

First of all lets give full and utmost respect and credit to Reading. Steve Coppell's men were the first side to arrive at Molineux determined to win a football match and that they duly did. Reading were first to every ball and first to every second, third, fourth and fifth balls for that matter too. They were well organised, disciplined and looked hungry for the win.

Wolves on the other hand simply showed no passion, no desire, a lack of effort and if they were playing to a system, they didn't stick to it.

All season we have waited for a side to arrive at Molineux and try to outplay us. The first time a side do exactly that, the players stay at home. If the club were to tell us the players went on the lash for Christmas day we'd be tempted to believe them.

Glenn Hoddle today claimed that the performance was the worst of the season. He said the players lacked desire.. well sorry Glenn, that's simply not good enough!

Not one single player today looked interested and that has got to change for Wolves vist to Sheffield Wednesday midweek. If it's the same again Hoddle could have a riot on his hands when we return to Molineux.

The players couldn't be arsed to entertain, so we can't be arsed to go into detail with a match report. All that is important is Reading scored twice, whilst Seol managed to hit the bar in a rare moment of excitement.

Back to Christmas cheer..
