Kenny steps towards the door as Wolves lose again
By Scott Cooper October 15 2005
Sheffield United 1-0 Wolves: HE'S done very little wrong since he joined Wolves and the odd mistake can be excused, but Glenn Hoddle could be slowly forcing Scottish International Kenny Miller out of the door.

Hoddle's Wolves side were well under-par as they lost their second game on the bounce away at league leaders Sheffield United.

It was a game in which Wolves were well and truly out-fought - a situation which should never occur, but a situation which happens all too often with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

"Sheffield United looked as though they wanted it more than us and as a manager that's hard to say." said a furious Hoddle after the match, but it was his decision mid way through the first half which angered the impressive 4,000 travelling supporters.

It's clear that Wolves are going to do well to keep hold of Striker Kenny Miller during the January transfer window, but if Hoddle would like to see the back of the hard-working striker, then he's going the right way about it.

Miller was again lively and full of effort, but Hoddle replaced him for George Ndah, a player who was as effective during his spell on the pitch as Olofinjana was for the whole of the first half.

The only goal of the game came in the first half. A mix-up between Oakes and Lescott lead to a corner and Neil Shipperly took advantage of some poor defending to head home from close range.

Steve Kabba should have dealt Wolves a heavier blow 20 minutes later, but his shot hit the post and rebounded to safety.

"Sheffield United looked as though they wanted it more than us and as a manager that's hard to say." Hoddle said "We've lost two games back to back now and that's a concern. We have got to find out who has got character. We are under pressure to get results now and I want to see big players. We can't lick our wounds for too long."
