Wolves have leapfrogged into the top six with a commanding display against QPR tonight , the hero on the night was Carl Cort who bagged a hatrick to complete a deserved 3-1 victory against Ian Holloway's outfit.

Wolves first goal was sublime stuff Carl Cort nodded down to Rohan Ricketts who's first time effort was saved well by Royce , the keeper unluckily couldn't hold onto the stinging drive and Ricketts picked up the ball again and fed it to the back stick to Clarke who's scuffed effort fell straight to the feet of Cort who made no mistake.

That goal should have given Wolves a platform but instead they fell asleep a few minutes later , a routine cross was not defended well and Kevin Gallen got above Lee Naylor and powered a header past the helpless Oakes.

Wolves needed to clear there heads because they should have gone 2-1 down , Paul Furlong found himself with time after a great throughball but Oakes was equal to him and pulled off a fine save with his legs.

The home side shook themselves down and went straight down the other end and took the lead again , brilliant work yet again from Kenny Miller who danced round Ian Evatt and played a inch perfect ball across the six yard box that found Cort who tapped home from close range for his second of the night.

Second half was basically one way traffic and if Kenny Miller could only find his shooting boots to match the rest of his game then QPR would have been staring down the barrel of a cricket score , Miller had two cracking chances laid on a plate for him but Simon Royce made him wait for his first goal of the season.

Carl Cort wrapped up the game right at the death , a superb ball through from Ricketts found Cort who duly obliged and fired home past Royce and collected the match ball.
