FORMER Celtic Captain Jackie McNamara has praised the fans for their efforts during the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Molineux on Tuesday.

McNamara praised the Wolves support after a successful and highly impressive home league debut in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace at Molineux.

McNamara set up Cort's 83rd minute winner but was quick to praise the fans. "It was a great atmosphere inside the ground tonight," He told the clubs official website.

"The fans were really behind the team and I hope that it was a sign of more to come from them. They're very vocal and obviously passionate, I really enjoyed the game."

The win ensures Wolves have taken four points from the opening two games, games against teams who along with Wolves were tipped for the Championship.

However it could have been different had Michael Oakes not made a superb save from England International Andy Johnson late in the game.

The win moves Wolves to mid-table but a win over new boys Hull City on Saturday could see Hoddle's men flying high with the start under their belts that they had wanted.
