The Wolves winger was yesterday added to the Wolves transfer list at his own request after seeing his first team opportunities limited at Molineux.

Cooper signed for Wolves from Wimbledon in 2003 for £1M but has made less than forty appearances for the old gold and black in that time.

The Derby-Born defender who has an eye for the spectacular goal told the clubs official website "I have enjoyed myself at Wolves and feel that I have a healthy relationship with the supporters.

"I have never given less than 100% for the club and I like to think that my attitude and professionalism has been of a high level.

"But I have felt frustrated by the lack of first team opportunities and, at my age, I need to be playing regularly in the first team. It's no good to me to be playing in fits and starts."

Blades boss Neil Warnock recently watched Cooper play for the reserves against Bolton where the former Stockport man hit the bar from 30 yards. It is likely Wolves will accept an offer of £500,000.
