WOLVES Chief Executive Jez Moxey has spoken out against his critics claiming he can't believe people questioned the amount of money Wolves spent last summer. New Page 1

The Wolves chief executive has spoken out just days after Sir Jack Hayward paid the former Stoke CEO a glowing tribute in the local media.

The latest comments come after Glenn Hoddle admitted that a decision on his future will probably be made later this week and an announcement could be made by the time Wolves take on Sheffield United at Molineux on Sunday.

"We seem to have spent a lot of time this season having to defend what I do not believe needed defending" Said Moxey to the Wolverhampton Express and Star.

"I cannot believe that anyone can seriously question that not enough money had been invested in the squad. And now we are seeing under Glenn Hoddle the players produce the football and results of which they are capable."

"We have just blitzed Reading, who have challenged for the play-offs all season, and taken apart Ipswich, who may well be promoted automatically. It has only gone to prove what we felt was the case all along this season - that this squad was more than capable of producing a sustained challenge at the top of this division"
