QPR 1-1 WOLVES

A late Carl Cort strike masked another shocking performance for Wolves. Cort popped up in the 85th minute to hit the back of the net against Queens Park Rangers, earning Wolves their eighth league draw in ten games.

Carl Cort, dropped in the game for Leon Clarke, came off the bench to fire past Royce in the 85th minute for Wolves in an impressive final ten, but a point was the maximum Wolves could ever have deserved.

After hitting the post with one of his first touches, the former Newcastle man turned on the edge of the area and blasted the ball past Royce, leaving the Rangers 'keeper no chance.

If this was a team is supposedly hoping to reach the play-offs, then someone is playing a cruel joke on the fans. Once again, for 80 minutes, Wolves chased shadows, failed to create chances and didn't hit a shot on target until the goal.

Hoddle dropped Cort for Clarke, whilst Ince came in for Olofinjana. Keith Andrews 'kept his place in the starting line up, but again was singled out by the fans - cheered ironically by fans when he was taken off for Olofinjana late on. Andrews was poor, but wasn't the worst on the pitch, the one-minded fans failed to see it.

It was QPR who started the brighter and who broke the deadlock after just eleven minutes. The home side broke down the right side and played the ball to Gallen. Wolves defender Craddock failed to deal and was caught on his back foot where Gallen made no mistake with the finish, firing past Oakes from 9 yards.

Transfer listed Kenny Miller ensured of a frustrating night for the visiting fans, time after time being caught offside providing a real stop-start game.

The second half was pretty much the same. Very little chances, very little imagination and no fighting spirit. Instead of a Wolves fightback, QPR should have taken a two-goal lead. Oakes first stopped a fierce Furlong drive and then blocked Gallen's close-range shot before Wolves finally put together an attack.

With more purpose, desire and creativity Wolves turned the screw. It was 80 minutes after the game had started, but at least Wolves Fans started to see a little improvement on the performance against Gillingham.

Carl Cort who had came on as a late substitute first headed against the post before Royce stopped a fierce Olofinjana drive from the edge of the area. QPR were defending for their lives, but Carl Cort won the plaudits when he hit the back of the net five minutes from time.
