Scotland hero Kenny Miller was today ready to go under the knife to cure a long standing groin problem.

Miller who's goal for Scotland on Saturday kept the Tartan Army's hopes of qualifying for Euro 2004 well in the balance , was heading for the surgery for the second time of asking , he was due to have the surgery just after helping Wolves into the Premiership but declined instead opting to play in the weekends 1-1 draw against Germany , and boy what a decision.

However Miller might still miss the start of the season after his decision to delay the operation.

Reported in the Express and Star Miller said "It was great to get my goal and I'm very pleased with my performance but it's back to reality as I go under the knife on Tuesday," 

"It's one of those things that I've got to get done as I've been playing with the problem for a while and hopefully once it's over with I can get off on holiday and enjoy the summer. The score was well deserved. I think we were worthy of at least a point, if not all three.

"We plugged away and got our just rewards.It was a great result for Scotland and it's put us in second place in our group."
